Shear (SHR) Testing
Though a simple pull test in principle, it is difficult to guarantee true “shear deformation” in the material! That’s why we have optimized the geometry of the test sample in order to achieve the desired deformation mode and thus generate “shear stress/strain curves”, and offer the right support for fracture model calibration efforts
- Custom tests with optimized shear sample geometries (for different metallic materials)
- Construction of effective shear stress/strain curves
- Evaluation of fracture strain limits under shear loading with stress triaxialities approaching zero (support the calibration of fracture models _ GISSMO)
- Quasi-static rates, as well as intermediate and high rates
