Cyclic Tension/Compression (CTC) Testing
Springback prediction in sheet metal stamping is a very complex topic that requires complex testing and characterization, the most critical of which is cyclic loading between tensile and compressive deformation. We developed a custom testing solution for this very purpose and we have a long history of performing this type of testing for a wide range of sheet metals
- Controlled cyclic tension/compression tests to large plastic strains (performed with in-situ DIC strain measurements)
- The testing setup and approach have been vetted using several steels, AHSSs, aluminium and magnesium alloy sheets
- Generating the stress/strain curves needed for the calibration of the Yoshida-Uemori kinematic hardening model
